The price of silver went through the roof!

Wow! These past several months were an exciting roller-coaster ride with the price of silver! The spot price of silver went from about $30 per Troy oz January 2025 and stayed in in the $30’s until August. By early October it was in the $50’s and in December it went from the $60s to $80 and backed off in the $70s. In January it was crazy, going from there to $115 on the 23^rd and as I type this on Feb 2^nd, it is back in the $80s.

Reluctantly, I am looking at raising the prices of my silver pieces after Valentine’s Day.

All of you are in luck, because all of the silver used in pieces that I have already made were made with silver I bought several years ago.

However, I am running out of that silver and I bought new silver last November before the biggest surge happened. It was a good price at the time, but much higher than my purchase several years ago.

I do believe silver is a very good investment. Part of the reason the prices have jumped is that it turns out that silver is used in many products, including solar panels, EV batteries, electronics, and many more military uses besides jewelry and monetary value. Gold is used primarily for jewelry and monetary value, but not much is used in products. We are in the middle of a squeeze on the supply of silver. Manufacturers need it for our high-tech products, and the silver supply has been hit hard, leading to supply shortages and the consequent wild price fluctuations.
